Leave Michel Alone (Sobbing)
We’re Therrien apologists, we know, we know.
But here are some objective facts for you…
After the collapse against the Devils
“A guy like Ryan Whitney is going to have to be more aggressive around the net,” he said. “He’s not aggressive at all. It cost [us] the game.”
Penguins defenseman Ryan Whitney, who had been called out by coach Michel Therrien after the previous game, had two goals an assist as the team opened a four-game homestand.
Sure, that’s the easy one. How about this?
After the collapse against the Devils
“I have to shoot more,” Letang said. “That’s the key. It’s going to happen.”
Defenseman Kris Letang scored with 3:39 left in the third period to give the Penguins a 4-3 win against the New York Islanders tonight at Mellon Arena.
Where do you think he was hearing that criticism from, whisper in the wind? Or a gruff, balding French Canadian with a girls name?
We get it, hating the coach of a talented team is the fashionable, no-risk thing to do. If the team does well it’s, “imagine what they could do without that albatross!” And if they start to tank it’s, “told you he sucked.”
But FACT: Therrien has kept a team without it’s leading scorer and number goal tender in a very competitive race for first in our division. He has to be doing something right. Right?
