Writing this blog used to be easy…

Now all I can think of are song cliches. ‘Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away, now it looks as if they’re hear to stay’ and all that noise.

Doubt About It quit the game at just the right time. Even The Pensblog, who are as profane as they are levelheaded are starting to loose their shit. All we’re waiting for is Seth from Empty Netters to call Miro Satan a “loafing, do-nothing cocksucker” and we’ll know for sure these are the end times.

But it’s always darkest before the dawn. Even now, your Penguins fandom is important. Maybe more then ever before.

I want you to look around this (virtual) room. See who’s standing next to you. These are the true fans.

For many of us who have seen the dark times of the franchise, this stretch is painful because we know the promise of this team. We’ve seen the building blocks fit into place. We’ve applauded Shero until our palms bled. We’ve anointed countless players from superstars to pluggers. And the facts were always on our side, we’ve been right… until now.

For others, this is your first test of faith-shaking torment. After this, you won’t be a rookie anymore.

As I type this… the Pens are down 0-2 against the Rangers headed into the 3rd period. By the will of Badger Bob, let this be the turning of the tide.
